About the song, from Byron: Sophie and Pearl were two real-live Ragdoll kittens who came into my life, took over my studio, and my heart. I was like a kid with those tiny kittens, and this song just came out of that happiness.

When I first heard Cece I knew she was the one to sing this with me. After she recorded several tracks, I was amazed that for such a reserved, almost shy person in some ways, she really got into this song as you will hear.

Larry knew just the triplet drum feel to make the song. How does he play all those fills and yet the song keeps on grooving so nicely? He's a really good drummer. Ciara once again knew exactly what the bass guitar needed, no chord chart required, she just feels it.

I always thought a clarinet would be great in this song for some reason. I heard several things Ian played on and that was it, looked no further. You would not believe his experience... The London Symphony, BBC, touring with pop bands playing sax, thousands of sessions. So, I told him, “You know all those riffs you've been saving up all your life? Let 'em fly, do it, don't hold back!” You will hear the result, brilliant!

Working with other people, even getting feedback when anyone hears your music, it can change the song. I couldn't name all the people. On Sophie and Pearl Larry had great arrangement ideas. And shout out to my friend and former neighbor Tom Jackson, who several times said, “Where is your low bass vocal part?” Oh yeah, great idea! I went and started going through syllables and now Sophie and Pearl has the bass vocals … bum bum bum bum …

It's probably cheating to have a video with Ragdoll kitten pictures, but I didn't plan it that way.

Harmony Dreamers is a studio project of prolific songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Byron Lee Scott, along with long-time band mate and drummer Larry Dragland. On each song are a host of top-tier vocalists and musicians from around the world, including more than 20 international backup singers on the humorous title track, I Come From Earth. It's all new music, happening now.

Koji is amazing, and later we will add more ways for you to interact, make videos for our songs, and who knows what other shenanigans.

Lyrics

Sophie and Pearl
My favorite girls
They're kinda' lazy
and crazy too
But they don't ask for much
Just a little love and such every day

Pearl and Sophie
They're waitin' for me
so warm and cozy
to soothe my head
in my big feather bed
when I come home at the end of the day

You might think it's kinda crazy, or somethin' racey
It's nothing so savoir faire
'Cause if you knew them, you'd see it's true them
are genuine best-of-friends teddy bears

Sophie and Pearl
My favorite girls
I know they sure'll
give you a purrrrr
And they don't ask for much
Just a little love and such every day

Guitar synthesizer solo with clarinet and vocals

And they don't ask for much
Just a little love and such every day
a little love and such every day
a little love and such I'm tellin' ya'
every single every lovin' day

You might think it's kinda crazy, or somethin' racey
It's nothing so savoir faire
'Cause if you knew them, you'd see it's true them
are genuine best-of-friends teddy bears

Sophie and Pearl
My favorite girls
They're kinda' lazy
and crazy too
But they don't ask for much
Just a little love and such every day
a little love and such every day
a little love and such every day
wah wah wah wah
